Hey everyone! This week, I’m switching things up a bit from my usual content. Instead of healthy lifestyle tips/recipes, I wanted to talk about something I recently did that really opened my eyes—the 16 Personalities Test! I took it the other day during my Psychology class and was very interested in it!
Now, I know you’ve probably seen a bunch of personality quizzes online, but the 16 Personalities Test (also known as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, or MBTI) is a little different. It’s a great way to learn more about your personality, your strengths, your weaknesses, and even which careers are best for you. I took the test and found out that I’m an ISFP—which stands for Introverted, Sensing, Feeling, and Perceiving.
But before I get into what ISFP means for me (and how it might apply to you), let’s take a quick look at the 16 personality types. And because I know you’re probably curious about who shares your personality type, I’ll throw in some examples along the way!
The 16 Personalities: What’s Your Type?

It’s always fun to see which personalities share traits with famous people you admire, right? Now that you have an idea of the types and some celeb examples, let’s dive into what it means to be an ISFP—and how it shows up in my own life.
What Does It Mean to Be an ISFP?
As an ISFP, I’m known as “The Adventurer”. We’re creative, spontaneous, and all about embracing the present moment. Let’s break down the four traits of ISFP:
Introverted (I): ISFPs tend to be more reserved. We enjoy alone time to reflect and recharge. Though we’re not antisocial, we do value our personal space and need quiet moments to think.
Sensing (S): We focus on the present. ISFPs are very much in touch with our senses and enjoy enjoying life as it comes. Think of us as being in-the-moment people, appreciating everything from the beauty of nature to good food or music.
Feeling (F): ISFPs are deeply in tune with our emotions and the feelings of others. We prioritize values and relationships over cold, hard logic, often making decisions based on our compassion for others.
Perceiving (P): Flexibility is key for ISFPs. We prefer to go with the flow and enjoy spontaneous adventures over rigid schedules. We’d rather jump into the unknown than stick to a strict plan.
Strengths of an ISFP
Being an ISFP comes with a lot of cool traits, and I’m sure some of these will resonate with you too. Here’s what ISFPs are especially great at:
Strengths of an ISFP:
Creative & Artistic: ISFPs have a natural creative flair. We are often drawn to art, music, fashion, and design. Celebrities like Harry Styles (a fellow ISFP) and Lady Gaga are prime examples of creative geniuses who thrive in the spotlight while also staying true to themselves.
Empathetic & Compassionate: ISFPs deeply care about people, which makes us great friends and confidants. We’re the first to show compassion and care, and this is something we share with celebrities like Selena Gomez, who has often shown her nurturing side through her work with mental health advocacy.
Adventurous & Spontaneous: We thrive on new experiences. Life is a journey, and ISFPs are always ready for the next adventure. Post Malone, for example, embodies this adventurous spirit—he’s known for going with the flow and being open to new and unexpected opportunities.
Calm & Peaceful: ISFPs seek peace and avoid drama. We are calm, grounded people who enjoy serene environments. We can also be a balancing force for others in times of conflict.
True to Ourselves: Authenticity is at the core of the ISFP. Like Harry Styles, we tend to do things our own way, embracing individuality and rejecting societal expectations.
Weaknesses of an ISFP:
Of course, like any personality type, there are a few challenges that come with being an ISFP. Here’s what we sometimes struggle with:
Emotionally Overwhelmed: ISFPs can get overwhelmed by their emotions. We feel deeply, and sometimes it’s hard for us to cope with the intensity of our feelings, which may lead to shutting down when we’re stressed or anxious.
Reserved & Private: We often keep things to ourselves and prefer not to open up too easily. It’s a good thing, but it can make it harder for others to get to know the real us.
Avoiding Routine: ISFPs don’t love being tied down to rigid schedules or repetitive tasks. We thrive on flexibility, but sometimes that means we struggle with consistency when it comes to long-term goals or responsibilities.
Conflict-Avoidant: We’re natural peacemakers, but that can also mean we avoid confrontation. Instead of addressing issues head-on, we sometimes let things slide in the name of peace.
Ideal Careers for an ISFP
Because ISFPs are so creative and spontaneous, we tend to do well in careers that allow us to express ourselves. Here are some fields where ISFPs, including some of your favorite celebs, tend to shine:
Creative Arts: As a natural fit for creative work, ISFPs often pursue careers in music, art, photography, or design. Just look at Harry Styles, who’s known not only for his music but also for his fashion choices and artistic expression.
Counseling & Therapy: Because of our empathy, ISFPs make excellent therapists, counselors, or social workers. We genuinely care about helping others work through their problems, much like Selena Gomez, who advocates for mental health awareness.
Healthcare: ISFPs are nurturing and caring, which makes us great at hands-on work in healthcare, such as nursing or physical therapy. Lady Gaga, while more known for her music, also does a lot of philanthropic work in health advocacy.
Education: Whether it’s teaching art, music, or just being a mentor, ISFPs excel in roles where we can help others find their own voice. Ariana Grande, for instance, is a role model for young artists and musicians everywhere.
